If you’re a member of Tin Shingle and missed today’s office hours, don’t panic! They happen often. Keep tabs on your email so you can join in.

Tin Shingle’s Office Hours are a place where you can bring your questions, our ideas, your fears and your successes.

Remember: July is Holiday Gift Guide Season! What is your plan?

We can discuss them and things like this in Tin Shingle’s Office Hours TuneUps!

About TuneUp Office Hours

If you are a member of Tin Shingle, you can join in on Office Hour Members-Only TuneUps! These are closed sessions, and not open to the public. This is a safe space for Tin Shingle Members to come in with brainstorms to give and get feedback.

You can turn on your video camera to speak eye-to-eye, or just talk on the phone or through your computer speakers.

In this series, members of Tin Shingle with the Media Kit Membership can call in to workshop any need in their marketing campaign, including:

  • Media Pitching: What a pitch to a certain media outlet should look like, and how it should read.

  • Instagram: How to get sales and create PR opportunities from you posts.

  • Facebook: How do you increase traffic from this platform?

  • Website: The media will circle back to evaluate their website. What are they seeing, and is it clear?

  • SEO: What's your game plan? Let's get one. You don't want to miss out on all that search traffic.

HOW IT WORKS:
Tin Shingle's owner Katie will moderate the call.

She will rotate through people on the call, and encourage each other to contribute to each person's challenge as a conversation.

CALL-IN DETAILS
When you are logged into your Media Kit Member account at Tin Shingle, you will be able to click this link in our Community section of the website to get the private link to call in details.

Once on the call, Katie will adjust your settings so that we can hear and/or see you. We love talking face-to-face, so turn your video on if you want. Otherwise, audio-only is fine.

Live From Houston - KPRC Channel 2 Houston Features BagRomance.com

Paola Kustra, a Tin Shingle memberand founder of BagRomance.com, the designer handbag rental company based in Houston, TX, was featured on KPRC Channel 2 Houston.

She pitched and landed the segment, and brainstormed how the taping would all happen during Tin Shingle's private Member's-Only TuneUps.

Paola organized models to display some of the purses available for rent on her website, including the "tiny" purse that fits hardly anything!

Paola regularly attends Tin Shingle’s TuneUps, and it is paying off! She comes away with fresh ideas on why to pitch the media, and then she does it.

Member Feature: Cool and Dope - Started By 6 Year Old Cavanaugh Who Is Unstoppable

Cool & Dope is an amazing non-profit from Maryland and is using Tin Shingle’s resources to help them get the word out about their incredible mission - POSITIVITY! Giving kids of all ages to change the world, one positive vibe at a time. Action starts with us – yes, all of us!

Sounds great, right! But here’s the thing, it was started by 6-year old, Cavanaugh Bell (Chief Positive Creator) while in kindergarten after he was bullied so badly, he wanted to die. He was so inspired by participating in the 2017 Women’s March in Washington, DC, that he wanted to make a difference in his community at home.

But everywhere he went trying to volunteer with other organizations, he kept confronting the same obstacle. He was too young. TO VOLUNTEER! But that didn’t slow him down, he started an organization that allows kids as young as 2 years to participate in positive activities.

Cool & Dope Is An Acronym!

Cavanaugh begged his mom to start a nonprofit to spread more positivity and love in the world, which is and was his way of stopping bullies. To change them, and bring more happiness and contentment into their lives.

By supporting a different cause each month, Cool & Dope is able to give parents a wide variety of kid-friendly philanthropic ideas to help make their local communities and the world a better (and much happier) place.

Cavanaugh and Cool & Dope have already been seen on their local Washington DC area NBC, ABC and CBS Television stations. He also has been interviewed on Facebook by Dr. April Lisbon-Peoples and children’s author Tracy Blom about how to identify and prevent bullying.

They are hoping to leverage their membership with Tin Shingle to get print coverage about the awesome work they are doing. The Ellen Show is their ultimate dream! Their pitch is already in Tin Shingle’s Pitch Whisperer forum, and we’re feedbacking on it now!

Monthly Volunteerism Projects

Each month Cool & Dope focuses on different projects. Current and upcoming projects are “For the Love of Seniors” and in April – “Loving Our Planet.” Past projects have included “Holiday Love for the Homeless” and providing clean water for an entire senior living community in Flint, MI.

Good 'Gram: How Blix Bike Is Using Instagram To Stay Fresh And New

GOOD 'GRAM

Tin Shingle Member Blix Bike has been killing it with their Instagram. Though they sell a handful of products - a variety of models of ebikes and accessories like a basket and touch-up paint - their Instagram feed is always fresh and new. One way they do it is to show customer photos of how customers are enjoying the bikes. See how these two bikes fit into this mini car!
