Idea Generating
TuneUp Open Office Hours
Feedback from trusted sources in the same boat as you and from a trained moderator can be just what you need to succeed in the kind of outreach you have been trying to get for weeks, months or even years. Tin Shingle Members have the opportunity to attend this weekly group strategy session.
HOW THESE WORK
A small group of Tin Shingle Members meet online using their phone or video screen so that a conversation can be open between all. Sometimes there is one person, sometimes three people. The conversation is moderated by Tin Shingle’s owner, Katie Hellmuth Martin, who guides the group in making sure everyone’s challenges and suggestions are heard.
SUCCESS STORIES
PAULA KUSTRA, FOUNDER OF BAGROMANCE.COM
Paula secured a feature story with a hyper local website in Houston just before she was set to go to tape a morning show segment also featuring her company's bag styles. During the Open Office Hours, as a group, we worked out how she could approach the writer, who had been delaying the story, to turn that delay into a TV segment. The strategy worked and the story aired!
LAURA BORLAND, CREATOR OF VYLLAGE
Laura, creator of the app that connects neighbors to receive your packages for you, was featured on a local TV station in her hometown of Florida. How'd she do it? "Repetition and Intensity. I followed Katie's advice after the members-only TuneUp and made a commitment to send my pitch to at least 25 journalists everyday. I used your PR Planning & Tracker to know who I had contacted.”
SIERRA BAILEY, CREATOR OF MANIC TROUT
Sierra landed herself a host position at a major cable network for a crafting show. All because she was brainstorming new ways to get the word out, and what she personally wanted to tap into.
